Well its almost Christmas and then a new year, so with that in mind I am thinking its time to start making plans. New band up and running, new business ventures, completing collage, more time on my motorcycle, more tattoo work, more travels and more time with those that matter. These are my goals.

i had this moment the other day where everything seemed to just fall into place. i understood things for a split second. where i was going, what i had to do and how i had to do it. now it's all gone though. i think it was this moment of clarity. the only problem was i didn't realise at the time and now it's gone. oh well life goes on.

This Japanese delicacy known as odori-don or “dancing squid rice bowl” is a variation on traditional squid sashimi and uses soy sauce to create the disturbing illusion of bringing a dead squid back to life.

Apparently the sodium in the soy causes neurons to fire, making the muscles twitch. The squid was completely motionless before the sauce was poured on and was definitely “dead at the time of serving”.

Shaun Stussy started off making surf boards and the clothing label came from that. he sold Stussy in about 96 to spend more time with his family but he's back! he's got a new label called sdouble and is shaping surfboards again. so its good news all round!

been a bit slack on here of late but i'll put more effort in to it from now. went down to cornwall last week for work with my friend tom at the wheel of the van. left the house at 5am on friday did a full days work till 5pm and was in the water by 5:15pm! good waves and then a few pints of the local cider "rattler" then sleeping in the back of the van. Saturday morning more waves to get rid of the bad head and a couple of all day breakfast cornish pastie's. win all the way. cant way to go back!

my soundtrack?

There must be some truth in it, when people say music saved my life. I do get it. Music has certainly made my life better at times Im not sure it saved me but i think it has helped. Im doing this thing at the moment where I have to map my life out on a chart putting in all the positive things that have happened to me and all the negative also. Now it can be really tricky to remember everything thats happened to you but nothing brings a memory back like a song. I mean do you remember when you were 11 years old? No nor did I but when i hear "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News it comes flooding back! That track was on the soundtrack to the 1st Back to the Future movie. That movie made me want to be a skateboarder more then any other single thing in my entire life! So in some weird way the music is the memory. I can recall the 1st time i heard Black Flag, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Public Enemy, Slayer, NWA, Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front, Warzone, Eric B and Rakim, Slick Rick, Suicidal Tendencies and the list goes on! I suppose what Im trying to say is music maps our life in both the good and bad times. Its our own soundtrack, lets try and make it an interesting one. Im off to run a bath while listening to the new Travis Barker album. Enjoy
